This Press Conference was organized after the Sta. Lucia Realtors took the opener of the 2007-08 Smart PBA Philippine Cup best-of-seven finals series against the Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants at the Araneta Coliseum on 15 February 2008.
With the win, the Realtors showed their opponents that they play offense as well as defense as they carved a 109-97 win and take a 1-0 lead in their best-of-seven series.
In the post-Game 1 Press Conference, SLR coach Boyet Fernandez, Realtors' skipper Dennis Espino and high-flying Kelly Williams expressed their satisfaction on how the team was able to recover from their championship jitters and imposed their brand of play on the Giants, especially in the second half.
Williams praised coach Fernandez and the veterans of the team fro preparing them for the Finals. He added that they practiced hard to prepare for any strategy that the Giants may employ and will continue to play hard in the series.
Coach Fernandez expects a Giants strong comeback, but they will be ready for it. He and Espino emphasized that the Realtors will continue to play good and honest defense all through the series and will not back down from any challenge.
