Parading an intact lineup while other Philippine Basketball Association squads lost their stars to the national team, the Sta. Lucia Realtors were one of the biggest disappointments in the 2007 Philippine Basketball Association Fiesta Conference.

But Sta. Lucia coach Boyet Fernandez promises a different Sta. Lucia squad this coming All-Filipino conference.

"This will be a different Sta. Lucia squad," said Fernandez during their practice at the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall penthouse gymnasium. "Everything na ni-request ko, ibinigay ng Sta. Lucia management. Wala akong masasabi kungdi suklian ang suporta ng management."

Fernandez said he met with Sta. Lucia management on what the squad needed to improve its placing in the PBA. The team has been practicing for the past two weeks because Fernandez requested an early start.

"I also requested a chance to bring my team to the US for tougher competition," said Fernandez. "Inaprubahan naman ng management. We're hoping we could get our visas so we could go to the US . But even if we don't get our US visas on Aug. 24, we're going to Brunei to compete in a tournament there. Management is really going all out so that the team will have a better placing this coming All-Filipino."
